Offered is a rare piece of history, the personal foot locker and remembrance letter of Rev. William F. Davitt. Davitt was a chaplain assigned to the 120th Machine Gun Bn. stationed in the Argonne, France during WWI and is recognized as being the last AEF officer to be killed in action during WWI.

The foot locker is well marked with Rev. Davitt's name, rank of 1st Lt. and the ID of his unit the, 120th Machine Gun Bn. brush painted on. Over-all, the locker is in very good condition. Painting is intact and presents nicely. Leather handles are well worn and coming loose. Lock was pulled loose from the lid. There is no tray. Included is the original death remembrance letter from the government given to the next of kin. Additionally, several pages of copied documentation on Rev. Davitt are included. This foot locker and letter are 100% original and are one of a kind artifacts from a highly researchable person. This foot locker is the one which was sent home to Rev. Davitt's next of kin containing his personal effects.
